New homeowner list to aid in electoral campaigns

During elections, the number of votes per state are counted to ensure that the citizens of that state are implementing their own right to vote. For every residential area in the state there is a given home owner list containing information about the people living in that area. Information may include ages, gender, dates of birth, civil status, annual income of the family, number of children, education levels attained, etc.  Having a list for each area will be both beneficial and disadvantageous for electoral candidates during campaign period. Here’s why:

Advantages of having homeowner lists:

·         Having homeowner lists is an advantage for candidates using statistical models to predict vote outcomes. By estimating the number of legal voters, one may use statistics to see past preferences of the voters by accessing the homeowner’s list and conduct surveys about the upcoming elections. After conducting the surveys, the concerned side may change their campaign plans based on the survey outcomes

·         Having a list of homeowners for each residential area gives the campaigning side an idea of the content of their electoral advertisements. Some advertisements may have an impact on younger voters than older ones or the other way around, so in this case, it is important to know the viewer’s age in producing campaign advertisements.

·         Having a list of homeowners gives the campaigning side a more systematic way of advertising. For example, if one area has more voters than the other, the campaign may focus on the side that has more voters than the other side with less voters. Or another strategy is to appeal to both areas to ensure votes from both areas.

Homeowner lists have been used in the past by other politicians, and is sought by aspiring nominated officials every time there are new homeowner lists. In conclusion, having a list of people per area is important when conducting nationwide elections
